School starts!!

Kade and Kyle were so excited to start school. We found out during the first week of school Connor would be able to go to. I don't think he was as excited as the other two. The whole process started a couple weeks before school began. Kade and Kyle had to go in for an "interview". It was basically small activities to see if they were compatible to be in TIS and the grade we say they are suppose to be in. Because of their birthdays they would both be able to jump a grade. After speaking to a friend about how she thought 2nd grade was really easy, I thought it would be better for Kade to go into 3rd grade. He was old enough and he passed the test/interview. When he took these nationwide tests at the end of 1st grade it said that he was in the 95th percentile of all kids his age/grade. It also said he was at a beginning 3rd grade level. Because of that and several other factors we (Eric, Kade and I) thought it would be best for him to jump to the 3rd grade, which means he will skip 2nd grade entirely. We are confident that Kade will do a good job and excel because he is a hard worker and a smart kid. Kyle, on the other hand, did not test well to jump to 1st grade. We are very thankful for this. He had never been to school before and he didn't know what was going to be expected of him. We are grateful we kept him in Kindergarten. Once we found out Connor was able to go he also had a small interview. He was tested on making patterns, drawing pictures and a couple of other things. He is in what they call "junior kindergarten" What is really crazy is they start having kids go to school as young as 3, which means Cam will be able to go to school next year if we think he should.

Meeting their teachers for the first time.

After buying uniforms and food for lunches, meeting their teachers and beginning of the school year father's blessings (by Eric, of course) they were ready to start school. Here are first day pictures of all the boys. Cam, of course, had to be in all the pictures too. They just love wearing their picnic table looking uniforms. :)

It is funny  it was raining on the very first day of school. It was raining last year on the first day when Kade started 1st grade in Las Vegas. The only difference is we now have to walk in the rain. It is going to be Eric's job to walk them to school every morning, but since it was their first day we both walked them to school. It is really hard to carry an umbrella and push a stroller at the same time.

This picture is great because you can see Cam's backpack too.

One of Connor's first days. It might have been raining on his first day too. For the first week or two he was excited to go, but then he would just start crying, especially if I dropped him off. One morning he was crying so hard and didn't want me to leave. The teachers tried getting him to go inside, but he was crying really hard. I had to hide because whenever he would see Cam and I would start crying and running away. It was a really hard and emotional morning. I hadn't cried dropping off one of the boys since I had dropped Kade off at the babysitter's for the first time many years ago. They finally were able to coerce him to class by letting him play on the ipad and hold a stuffed animal. This lasted at least a week or two. Eventually he started to really like going to school.
