First "Debutant" Birthday Party

We were invited to our very first "Debutant" (I believe that is how you spell it) birthday party. It is part of the Filipino culture. When a daughter turns 18 they have a big celebration because she is now an adult (they don't do this for boys until they are 21). Roxette is one of the young women in the branch. She is an incredible young lady. She has always friendly, kind and happy. Eric was able to present her a gift since he was part of the "18 Treasures". He did a good job giving her advice, especially since he found out he needed to give s "speech" about 10 minutes before. Something we have noticed....back home we have what is called "Mormon standard time" where everyone shows up about 15-30 minutes late or the event starts late. Here it is "Filipino time". A few events we have been to haven't started until an hour in a half later. Eric and I showed up at 7, when it was suppose to start. It didn't officially start until 8:30. Luckily Sister Anna was watching the boys so we didn't have them running around everywhere. Once it started it was a beautiful program and party. Roxette looked absolutely stunning. Thanks to our friends, Jaclyn and Janelle, in Las Vegas. Since they are Filipino I was able to email them and they told me what to wear and what is the usual gift  to give. I also found out all of the women needed to wear royal blue. I had a fun time shopping for a royal blue dress. Cam was really patient and well behaved. :)
