Golden Week 2

On Wednesday of Golden Week we went to Hac Sa beach. Since everyone at church had the day off the activities committee and branch presidency planned a fun outing. The boys didn't really talk to everyone. They were more interested in playing in the water and having fun.

Cam saw this fish statue. He wanted his picture taken by it.

Boys playing in the sand. We were out there for at 3 or 4 hours. By the time we arrived home they were exhausted. Cam fell asleep on my shoulder before we even left the beach. Thankfully there are always taxi's dropping people off so we were able to find one quick.

Some friends, who are from Utah, brought their canoe over here with them. The boys had a blast riding in it.

Far away. Only the older kids were in the canoe this far away.

Towards the end two of the boys were in the canoe. One of the younger guys (early-mid 20's) in the branch went with them. I don't know how but the next thing I saw was them trying to pull the boat to shore. Then a bunch of lifeguards were carrying another canoe out to go help them. Thankfully both of the boys were ok. That is about when we decided to go home.

Cam didn't want to leave even though he was exhausted.

Courtney (one of the YW I teach ) and Kade

This is how they cook the food here in Macau. The hot dogs and cheeseburgers were really good. They also made fish after they made all of the hot dogs, cheeseburgers and chicken.

Cam and his super messy face.

The following day we went down to the Wynn again but we were too late for breakfast so we had lunch. Here are some pictures Cam took. After that we went to the St. Paul ruins and the Macau Museum.

Our first time at the St. Paul ruins. It was lightly sprinkling that day, but nothing we aren't getting use to having to walk in all the time.

Going up to the fort.

Views of Macau from the top of the fort.

All of the boys loved the cannons. Of course when we stopped them to take a picture, many of the other people would stop and take pictures too.

Another view of Macau

Many of the items and displays we saw at the museum. It is really hard to go to a museum with four little monkeys. They don't stay at one display long enough to really figure out what it is and what the history is. We can always go again! ;)

Bell that hung at St. Paul before it burned.

A super old piano.

This is what the original St. Paul Cathedral looked like.

I think this picture is funny because it looks like Kade is confessing....a couple of weeks before he is baptized.

Macau use to be one of the biggest manufacturers of fireworks. This corner of the museum is dedicated to telling the history of the firework industry. Now, however, many of the plants have been shut down and turned into something else.

Our first Golden Week was such a fun time. It is so nice having the boys and Eric home, especially when we don't have to rush to be anywhere. We look forward to next year's Golden Week!
