Hong Kong/Disneyland-Day 1

For Kade's birthday we decided to take him to Hong Kong Halloween Disneyland. We thought it would be so much fun. Just like Disneyland CA was a couple of years ago when we went. Here they are at the ferry terminal all ready to go.

The sun hitting the water on our way to Hong Kong.

After we were done with the ferry we had to ride the MTR where a shuttle would pick us up to our hotel. This part of Hong Kong is beautiful. It is so green. This side of Hong Kong is rarely talked about.

Such a monkey!

Area where our hotel was at. It was beautiful and so quiet! In a way it reminded us of parts of Summerlin in Las Vegas.

We ate lunch at this little Italian place. Best spaghetti and meatballs we had eaten in a long time. The pizza was really good too!

We didn't need to head to Disneyland for a little while so we decided to take the boys down to the playroom. Here is Eric concentrating on his coloring. We all enjoyed coloring!

We arrived at around 5:00, but because we bought the "Halloween" tickets they wouldn't let us in until 6:00. That was frustrating! Then we found out Halloween in Hong Kong is not the same as it is in California. Usually in CA all of the regular ticket holders had to leave while everyone who purchased the "Halloween" tickets could go in and stay until the park closed. We found out that the regular ticket holders are able to stay all day long. This was also frustrating because we should have just bought regular tickets, especially since we wouldn't have had to wait until a certain time to get in. Another disappointment was nobody was dressed up. The boys didn't stay in their costumes for very long because nobody else was wearing them. In CA most of the rides are changed to Halloween theme. None of the rides here changed at all and there was very few decorations. I know we are very lucky we were able to go. Not very many families get this chance, but we were just expecting something else. They still did have fun on the rides and the fireworks really were spectacular.

After the fireworks we started to head back to the hotel. We were going to take the MTR but the line was really long so we decided to take a taxi. After standing in the taxi line for quite awhile we found out a boat ran into one of the bridges. This closed the MTR and made it difficult for taxi's to get to the island Disneyland was on. However, because of some help from a couple of young Asian kids (we think they may have been Disneyland employees who were going home) we were able to finally find a taxi and head to the hotel. It was a long day so the boys were really tired. We were excited to see what we would do on Saturday!
