Bangkok, Thailand-Day 3 & Day 4

On this day we decided we would go back to Vimanmek Palace and the Anantasakhom Palace. I am glad we did because the inside the Vimanmek Palace was incredible. The description in the map says, "The World's largest teakwood mansion; it was used as King Rama V's residence primarily. Currently, it's acting as a museum to commemorate King Rama V by displaying his photographs, personal art and handicrafts and national Thai heritage." There are 81 rooms in this mansion. Just like the temples, we had to take our shoes off and we were not allowed to take pictures. One difference though is since I had shorts on I had to wear this cover. Anyone who had shorts on or tank tops had to wear something to cover up.

It was such a gorgeous day. It was very sunny and the air was clean.

Pictures of what we saw on our taxi ride.

At Vimanmek Palace.

The grounds are huge. King Rama V had 3 boys. I am sure they loved living there with all the places they could run and play.

This is the Anantasamakham Palace. We really wanted to go in but the line just to get the tickets was an hour or two long. I am sure the inside is just a gorgeous and amazing as the Vimanmek Palace and the Jim Thompson house.

This street was always really crowded because there were people coming or going to a graduation.

What a tuk tuk looks like from the outside.

Inside Siam Paragon where the movie theatre is. When we were done at the palaces we decided to go see another movie.

The movie theatre bathroom.

Here are pictures of a famous park. It looks like it is beautiful.

The sidewalk in front of our hotel.

This reminded me of the Women's market in Hong Kong.

Beautiful sunset.

Another beautiful sunrise on our last morning in Bangkok.

Pictures from our taxi ride to the airport. Love the pink taxis. ;)

Super cute store in the airport.

Our view of the bridge being built from Macau to Hong Kong.

We are home. We can see it.

Eric and I are so grateful we were able to take this trip. It was the first time we have ever really had time away from being parents. It is something we hope we can do more often. We are grateful for Sister Susana and Sister Anna for watching our boys. I am sure they needed a vacation after we got home. :)
