Bangkok, Thailand-Day 2

It was really nice waking up again to nobody screaming and fighting or asking "can we eat?" Instead we were able to stay asleep until we wanted to wake up. Afterwards we went downstairs to have an extremely yummy breakfast. On this day we decided we wanted to go another popular tourist destination. As we were arriving we noticed there was a ton of people getting out of tour buses so we went to the zoo instead. That was a great decision. It was so fun going to a good zoo! This is one thing we did the boys would have loved to see.

The Royal Elephant National Museum-we saw this as we were heading over to the zoo.

This is a replica of the boat the king and his elephant would float down the river on.

The entrance to the Dusit Zoo.

One of our favorite parts was watching these two elephants.

The description reminded me of some little boys I know.

We really needed some water so we thought we would check out the food court. The smell in the food court was awful! It seems like every country has its very own unique smells. Some smells are really good and some are really bad. This was a really bad smell and made me not want to even try the food.

Our other favorite part was watching the monkeys. The way they behaved really reminded us of the boys.

Malayan Sun Bear

There was a really nice bridge that went around the park. We could things from up high, not just from the ground.

Eric getting mad at two of the boys. Lol!

These guys look like the teenage mutant ninja turtles when they were babies.

Real gorillas. They were following each other around.

More monkeys.

Eric's favorite part was watching the baby monkey play around. He says the baby reminds him of Cam.

This is an exact picture of the boys!!!

Here is an underground bomb sheler for when Japan was bombing Thailand during one of the world wars. I had no idea Thailand was even a part of the world war.

As we were leaving we walked past the elephants again. We were able to watch one take a bath.

When we were done we decided to head over to Siam Paragon again to watch a movie. When Eric and I were dating going to the movie theatre was one of our favorite things to do, so it was really nice to go again with just the two of us. One distinct difference watching a movie in Thailand compared to the U.S. is after the previews, right before the actual movie starts, everyone has to stand up for the national song about the king. I thought that was neat. I wonder if America had the audience stand for the national anthem or Pledge of Allegiance before each movie if that would help people be more patriotic.

The taxi driver dropped us off at the wrong mall, but it was fun to see the difference between this mall and the one we really liked. Eric is with the MBK mascot.

After we were done watching the movie we headed back to the hotel room. A worker at the hotel gave us a paper with the exact address to show the taxi driver so it was much easier getting back. We looked forward to our last full day in Bangkok.
