Kyle's Kindergarten Graduation

We are so proud if Kyle for graduating from kindergarten and surviving his first year at school all day! He had a great year and made many new friends. His teacher told me that he got along with everybody. Sometimes when she would put students in a group there was some she knew would not get along together. She said she was able to put Kyle in any group and he would cooperatively with the other students. His strength is in drawing and geometry. She said his sense for 3-d images and spatial awareness is above grade level. He does need help with reading though-sounding out the letters and putting them all together. In some ways he can be a drama king. If something doesn't go exactly how he thinks it should or somebody chooses to not do what he wants them to do he can get really frustrated. His teacher could tell he would get frustrated when a project didn't work out exactly the way he thought it should. At home he has a full on melt down. During the next year this is something we will be working on, at home and at school. He is the one that really teaches Eric and I to have patience. However, Kyle is super excited to move up to 1st grade.

I thought his graduation program would be a lot better than it was. Many graduations have the students walk across the stage and are handed their "diplomas". Not this one. They did sing a bunch of songs, one all in Mandarin. When their name was called, each student stood and held a pose for 3 seconds. Eric and I were really anxious to see what Kyle would do. He saluted for 3 seconds. No other student chose that pose. He is really wants to be a police officer right now. With what is going on in America I really hope he changes his chosen profession to something else. We had Kade stay out of class but it wasn't needed. He went back to class right after the program was over. Meanwhile Eric, Cam and I stayed to take pictures and participate in the activities they had around they gym . I thought I was underdressed, but it turns out I was dressed just fine. We had a fun time participating in the activities with Kyle.

During the program.

Waiting for it to start.

Singing "Love is Something if You Give it Away". He was really excited to sing it. He would sing the weeks before the performance.

This is where he stands up and does his salute pose.

Singing the song in Mandarin.

This says, "Kyle is so nice. He is good at climbing". That is very true.

Kyle and his really good friend Chucka.

Both of them with Aton.

Making his graduation hat.

We are so proud of you Kyle!! We look forward to seeing what you accomplish next year!

On Saturday we went to the Wynn breakfast buffet to celebrate Kyle graduating and Father's Day.

One of my most favorite pictures.
