Hong Kong Trip 2 (Day 1 and 2)-Dragon Boat Racing, Space Museum and Swimming

We decided to take a last minute trip to Hong Kong during 4th of July weekend. We were worried it was going to rain but it didn't rain at all. We stayed in a different hotel that was closer to Harbour City. Instead of taking the MTR this time Eric really wanted to take a taxi. At least the taxis in Hong Kong are willing to take all of us. Pictures at the ferry terminal. We are all decked out in our 4th of July outfits. We usually get stared at A LOT! Because of our outfits we were stared even more. It is kind of annoying.

On the ferry.

Usually we sit on the other side of the ferry. On this we sat where we can see the really tall building. If you have seen the last Transformers movie you will recognize this building. The last part of the movie is set in Hong Kong and this is where part of it takes place. I think this part of Hong Kong is called Causeway Bay, but I could be completely wrong.

In the taxi.

Sites from our taxi ride.

Connor fell asleep in the taxi.

Traffic in Hong Kong is almost as bad as traffic in L.A.

While we were waiting for Eric to check us in to the hotel the boys decided to hold the doors open for everyone. Most people thought it was really kind and said thank you or xie xie (thank you in mandarin). Some people just walked in like hey expected somebody to hold the door for them. At least they were behaving and doing a small act of kindness. These doors lead to the mall portion of the building.

Kyle and Cam did play on the stairs a little bit.

Views from our room.

Views of our room.

There was a small kitchen in it.

Beds were really small.

As we were leaving there was a talent show going on. The little boy on the stage just tooted on a recorder to the ABC song. There was a ton of cute girls dressed in dance costumes.

Outside of our hotel.

There was an international dragon boat race going on. The harbor was packed with racers.

Of course we had to go to Outback for dinner.

The view from our table.

More walking around.

Putting on temporary dragon boat racing tattoos.

At the space museum. Don't they look scared.

We watched a movie about space and how satellites work. It was really interesting. We wore 3D glasses and had to put earphones on to listen to the English translation of the video.

Walking back to the hotel.

Our night view.

Morning view.

The sculptures in this swimming pool looked so real. They even had blood veins drawn on them. One looked like she had drops of water on her leg.

A huge cruise boat.

Swimming....

Cam totally looks like he is drowning, but he isn't. He likes to stick his head under the water and see how long he can stay under.

Kyle jumping in. We were soon asked for him to not do that though.

All of the boys seeing how long they can hold their breath.

After they were done swimming we went back to the hotel room and ordered room service. It was a nice Sunday! What is awesome is we were still able to have Sunday School since we are now use to having Sunday School at home with only our family. We were going to try to go to church but decided not to because we couldn't figure out how to get to a building. All of the boys were extremely excited for Monday morning.
