Kyle's 8th Birthday

Kyle has turned 8. He has been anxiously waiting to turn 8 so he can get baptized. However, he has to wait just a little bit until we are in Las Vegas. Because we are doing a big celebration for his birthday and baptism we didn't really do a whole lot on his birthday. We did make sure he had a cake though. 

 That weekend it was his "girlfriend" Jessica's birthday. She had a birthday party at Kids Kingdom at the Parisian. As we walked there we saw the Venetian all decorated and lit up. 

Happy Birthday, Kyle!! We hope you are able to make this year great! 

Kid of Character Award for Connor

Connor received the "Kid of Character" Award for helpfulness. Usually he is more helpful then some of the other boys. There are a few times I won't have to ask him to do something. The student teacher awarded Connor with the award. He looks very handsome even though he is missing he two front teeth.

Thanksgiving

I am positive this was the first Thanksgiving that we did not celebrate with any friends or family. We were excited to cook our own turkey since we now had an oven. Here is Eric getting the turkey ready to cook and in the oven while it is cooking. Unfortunately, Eric was so anxious to eat the turkey when it was done I didn't get a picture. The turkey was picture perfect though. I looked very tastey and juicy. 

 Yes, the boys were already wearing their Christmas p.j.'s. 

Overall it was a quiet, but nice Thanksgiving. We are indeed grateful for all of our blessings, especially our family. At this time we were really excited because we would soon be on a plane headed for Las Vegas.

Kade's 5th grade experience week in Zaoqing, China

Kade's entire class had the opportunity to go on a 4 day " field trip" to Zaoqing, China. He was really excited. I was really nervous. This was the first time he was gone for this long and not with family. However, I know he would be ok and make correct decisions to help him and his friends/classmates.

After Kade came back one of the things he told me was that there was cock roaches bigger than his hand. I truly believe cock roaches are China's national insect. They are seriously everywhere.
